***BOLO***

My name is William Mark Whitley, I hold a 6th degree black belt and I am currently the director of the TAIKIDO KARATE KAI. I began my training at the age of 6 under my father, Master Willie M. Whitley Jr., the founder of the TAIKIDO style of karate. The training in judo and karate that I endured under Master Whitley prepared me for the next phase of my life, Jr. high and high school wrestling. I attained the All City Championship; I also qualified for the Western Ma. and State Finals. Upon graduating I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where I received Honor Man and Outstanding Recruit at Paris Island and Camp Lejune. When I returned home I resumed my martial education, I also focused my energy towards bodybuilding. I attained various titles while body building; Mr. Springfield and Mr. East Coast just to name a few, I also qualified in several others. In 1984 I became a chapter leader of the Guardian Angels at which time I was afforded an opportunity to train with some of the top martial artists in the world, such as Tony Martinez Sensei (isshin Ryu), Sufu Hashim Sensei (Kenpo) and Eddie Villeria Sensei (Taekwondo). Master Whitley passed away on march 2nd 1985, shortly there after I began studying under his instructor, Master Noriyasu Kudo (Sui Shin Ryu Karate). I have also had the honor of training under and receiving rank from Randy Wozin Sensei (Taekwondo) and Takeshi Okumura Sensei (Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu). To test my physical ability and theories I entered the 1999 Vale Tudo competition held in Rhode Island where I took 1st place. I am currently training my younger brothers as well as managing their professional boxing careers. I also teach at the Taka Judo & Karate Club and Whitley’s Fitness Center.
